An ICNDF Certified Mobility Assistance Dog ™ is a service dog trained to assist a physically disabled person.  At ICNDF our primary focus is on "walker dogs", commonly used to assist Parkinsons patients, the elderly, patients in post-injury recovery, and a number of other conditions and disorders. These "living canes' provide stability of gate and balance while walking and help negotiate stairs and other problematic obstacles.  They are also trained to serve as a brace to help regain position and footing.

are also trained to serve as personal protection guardians.

As with other types of assistance dogs, in many countries people are allowed to bring their Mobility Assistance Dogs into places where animals are not normally allowed, such as restaurants, public transportation, and hotels. 

In the United States, The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) guarantees this right to disabled individuals. If access is denied to a disabled individual, federal and some state laws have heavy penalties that may be brought against the business denying access.
